A horse bred in the UK out of a Golden Slipper winner is set to resume his career in Melbourne with the Robbie Griffiths and Mathew De Kock stable.

Dajraan, a son of Frankel from the 2014 Golden Slipper winner Mossfun, runs in the Sportsbet Race Replays Handicap (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

After starting his career in the UK where he registered two wins, Dajraan made his way to Sydney to the stable of Gai Waterhouse and Adrain Bott

Dajraan made an immediate impression, winning first-up at Warwick Farm on January 26, 2022, progressing later that year to claim the Group 3 Festival Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.

Following a further six runs, without featuring in the placings, the decision was made to send the six-year-old south to Griffiths and de Kock.

De Kock said the stable had 'started again' with Dajraan.

"His work at home has been very good, so if it was a different horse with a different form card, I could head to the races feeling pretty confident," de Kock said.

"But he's got a terrible record of late, so he's got to turn that around, but we can't fault his well-being.

"There's something there, he's got ability for sure, it's just whether he is willing to reproduce it on race day."

Griffiths and de Kock have used the different facilities at Cranbourne in their bid to switch Dajraan on again, in particular the treadmill in their stable.

De Kock said all the data that Dajraan has produced in his time at Cranbourne has indicated a forward showing on race day.

Dajraan has had two jump-outs in preparation for Saturday, the most recent finishing second over 1200m at Cranbourne on July 1.

De Kock said a wet track would not pose a threat for Dajraan.

"He's had some form on wet tracks, so I don't think it would be an issue, but I would prefer a better track," de Kock said.

"But I think we'll still head to the race anyway."
