The Money Trail – Sandown, June 7

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Wednesday’s meeting at Sandown.

New Horizons (Race 2) has been heavily backed into odds-on favouritism at $1.80, which is almost two points shorter than his opening price. The Frankel colt makes his debut for Darren Weir and the punters believe it will be a winning start for the two-year-old.

Granddukeoftuscany (Race 4) opened close to double figure odds but strong support has six him firm more than six points to favouritism at $2.70. The import hasn’t had a lot of recent racing but was good when resuming with a fifth at Flemington and the market push suggests he has come on since.

Sohool (Race 6) could be worth an each way ticket at $4.80 having tightened two points since markets opened. The stallion hasn’t been far away in either run this time in and could be ready to peak third up.
