The Money Trail – Taree, June 2

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Friday’s meeting at Taree.

Imperial Eagle (Race 1) is now second pick in the market at $3.60 having almost halved his opening quote. The two-year-old has placed at two of his three career runs including a resuming third at Kempsey last start so should be improved second up.

Kijito (Race 2) is now on the verge of an odds-on quote at $1.90 having shortened 40 cents since betting commenced. He looks to have found a winnable race off a midfield effort at the Scone carnival and had been runner up at Cessnock before that.

Bonita (Race 4) is a warm favourite at $2.20, which is more than a point shorter than her initial quote. She will find this easier than her last run at the provincials and had won at this course and distance first up this campaign.

Don't Doubt Her (Race 8) has taken over at the head of the market at $3.10 having shortened more than a point and a half. She drops in grade from the Scone carnival and should be at her best third up.
