Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Saturday’s meeting at Rosehill.

So Willie. Picture: Racing and Sports

New Universe (Race 2) is a well-supported favourite at $2.20, which is 60 cents shorter than his opening price. The progressive three-year-old has won both of his starts this campaign and the punters are keen to stick with him.

Zamex (Race 4) opened at each way odds but has now taken over at the head of the market at $3.30 having firmed two-and-a-half points. She hit the line well for second at the Gold Coast last start and should reaching her peak third up.

So Willie (Race 7) opened as an equal favourite but now stands clearly alone on the top line of betting at $3.50, which is almost a point shorter than his initial price. He is racing well winning three of four runs this time in and the markets push suggests he can add another victory.

Invinzabeel (Race 8) now shares favouritism at $4.40 having firmed more than a point and a half. He was a big improver when winning at this course last start and should be able to progress again third up.
