The Money Trail – Geelong, May 16

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Tuesday’s meeting at Geelong.

Sia (Race 2) is now well into the red at $1.60 having firmed close to a full point. The beautifully bred daughter of Fastnet Rock and Hips Don’t Lie is on debut for Hayes-Dabernig and the market support suggests she can start off with a win.

Paris (Race 3) has been backed into an odds on quote at $1.95, which is 25 cents shorter than her initial price. He showed promise at her maiden campaign and should be fitter second up off a resuming third on the Pakenham synthetic.

Mutin (Race 4) is a warm favourite at $1.90 after firming a half point. The super consistent gelding has placed at all seven career starts including three times in the city and the punters believe today will be his day.
