The Money Trail – Geelong, May 9

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Tuesday’s meeting at Geelong.

Benovsky (Race 1) opened well into each way odds but has firmed more than three points to $4.40. The Godolphin gelding is on debut but the market push suggests much is expected first up.

Ocean Magic (Race 3) has taken over as favourite at $3.50 having firmed a point and a half. The filly was placed at Cranbourne last start and looks to have found a suitable assignment.

Tris (Race 5) has been backed into favouritism at $3.50 with TopBetta fixed odds, two points shorter than her best price. The stakes-winning juvenile should be improved by her resuming run having won second up before.

Magwitch (Race 6) remains at each way value at $5 after firming three points since betting commenced. He has been runner up at both runs this time in and could be ready to hit his peak third up.
