The Money Trail – Canterbury, April 26

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Wednesday’s meeting at Canterbury.

Savvan (Race 2) opened as the second pick but has taken over at the head of the market at $2.80 having firmed a full point today. The consistent filly was placed when resuming at Warwick Farm last time and the punters are expecting improvement second up.

Ozark (Race 5) has tightened his grip on favouritism at $2.45, close to a point shorter than his best price. The Godolphin gelding has been solid in three runs this campaign and may be ready to strike after running second at Newcastle last time.

Nemrud (Race 7) has been a longer priced firmer so could be worth a bet at $4.40 with TopBetta fixed odds, more almost eight points shorter than his opening quote. He comes off a win at Kembla Grange and the support suggests he is capable of stepping up to city company.
