The Money Trail – Orange, March 6

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Monday’s meeting at Orange.

Social Pirate (Race 1) opened as a narrow favourite but has tightened his grip on favouritism at $2.35 having shortened 70 cents. He improved with racing through his maiden campaign and should be primed to go well fresh off two recent trials.

Girl Most Likely (Race 3) could be worth an each way ticket at $7.50 having shortened four and a half points early. She was down the track last start but her best effort came on a soft track so may appreciate the rain-affected surface.

Celtic Diamond (Race 4) is another given an each way hope at $5.50 having almost halved her opening quote. She has won two of her last three starts including last time when leading throughout on a soft track.

No Pushover (Race 5) has halved her opening quote and is now at $6 so could be worth an each way play. Her recent runs have been in provincial or city grade so enjoys a drop in class in the country today.

Dane De Lago (Race 7) opened at double figures odds but is now $4.40 having shortened the best part of eight points. He couldn’t get into the race when resuming bit will be fitter for a step up in trip and has won on the soft before.
