The Money Trail – Sandown, February 22

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Wednesday’s meeting at Sandown.

Rising Red (Race 4) has been heavily backed early, in to an odds on quote at $1.70 having firmed almost a full point early. The promising three-year-old has a win and four placings from his last five runs and should be suited stepping back up in distance.

Top Me Up (Race 7) is a well-supported favourite at $2.70 having shortened a half point since betting commenced. He won on the Hillside course three runs back and drops in grade on his last couple, running a fourth at Listed level before being beaten less than a length in a Saturday race.

Sebring Dream (Race 8) opened as second favourite but is now now top pick in the betting at $3.70 having firmed more than a point. The filly showed talent in good races during the spring, highlighted by a second in the Wakeful, and is expected to sprint well fresh.
