Doppler (Race 1) has been backed into second favouritism at $2.80, more than a point and a half shorter than his initial quote. He has yet to place in three runs and didn’t beat one home last start but should find this easier and the punters are backing the Weir magic to kick in.

Written Return (Race 5) opened at each way odds but is in more than a dollar to $4.20. She wasn’t far away last time but may appreciate the return to 1200m having won her previous start over the trip at Warrnambool.

Master Zephyr (Race 6) looks the class runner in the Colac Cup and the punters are latching on to that fact by backing him in 80 cents as a well-supported favourite at $3.20. He looks well placed in this having placed at four of his last five starts in city or high class races.

No Fairy (Race 7) opened at each way odds but has now taken over as the favourite at $3.20 having shortened more than two points. She was fourth in Adelaide last start after a Great Western win and has a good record at this journey.

Tax Evader (Race 8) has been a big mover in early betting, shortening more than seven points to $4.80 with TopBetta fixed odds. He has been out of the money at his past two but was a first up Cranbourne winner and has run well at the mile before.
