Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Tuesday’s meeting at Newcastle.

Aeecee Tong De (Race 2) is in close to a point early and is now second pick in the market at $3.80. The Pierro filly debuts for Waterhouse-Bott off two Sydney trials, running third in the latest at Randwick.

Sharpness (Race 5) is challenging for the top line of betting at $3.30 having tightened close to a half point. The daughter of Wanted is on debut for Team Hawkes having finished second at both of her trials in the city.

O'Reilly Cyrus (Race 8) opened as favourite but has only ttightened her grip on the market at $2.60 having shortened almost a dollar. The former Queenslander will be fitter for one run back for Joe Pride for a fifth in town and looks suited in provincial grade.
