The Money Trail – Quirindi, November 8

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting for Tuesday’s meeting at Quirindi.

Break Up (Race 1) has been well-backed early at the expense of the easing odds-on favourite and is in a point and a half to $2.90 as second pick in the market. The Allan Denham-trained daughter of Nicconi is on debut after three career trials, the latest when a close second at Cessnock.

The Getaway (Race 2) has taken over as favourite after almost halving his opening quote to $2.40 in TopBetta fixed odds betting. A lightly-raced gelding from the Paul Perry yard, he has hit the line strongly at all three of his career runs at sprint journeys so should appreciate the step up to the mile.

Dayarma (Race 3) has been backed to inside each way odds at $4.60, three and a half points shorter than his initial quote. He wasn’t beaten far at the provincials last start and his best ratings line up well in this field.

Single And Free (Race 5) is a well-supported favourite at $2.35, firming about 40 cents in this morning’s trading. The lightly raced mare only made it to the races once last campaign but had won one of her two starts at her initial preparation and should be ready to fire fresh after two recent trials.
