Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Thursday’s meeting at Mornington.

Exclamation (Race 3) is clear at the top of betting boards at $3.10, about 80 cents shorter than his first price. He was a beaten favourite when making his debut but still ran well to place and should be open to natural improvement second up.

Fica Gal (Race 5) has been a good go and is in to an odds on quote at $1.85 having firmed half a point. The filly led and gave a sight when running second when resuming and should be fitter with that run under her belt.

Moonlover (Race 8) opened close to two points longer than the early favourite but has now clearly taken over at the head of the market at $2.70 having shortened about $1.50. The mare should be ready to peak third up having run well despite racing greenly last time and the blinkers on should improve her manners.
