The Money Trail – Taree, August 21

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Sunday’s meeting at Taree.

Got Nothing (Race 2) offers each way value at $5 with TopBetta after firming in three full points since markets opened. The gelding steps out of his first race start as a five year-old and was fourth in a recent barrier trial but the market move suggests much is expected on debut.

Vidaloca (Race 5) is another that has been backed at longer odds to $6.50 after opening at double figures. The well bred but lightly-raced gelding is in good form breaking his maiden two runs back then hitting the line hard for a close third last time so should be suited by the extra 150m.

Braces (Race 7) has been backed in to $3.60 favourite in the Taree Cup, more than a point shorter than his opening quote. He has super consistent form in Sydney with a wine and four seconds from his last five runs and Winona Costin should be able to secure a good run in transit from a favourable draw.
