The Money Trail – Wyong, Tuesday July 12

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Tuesday’s meeting at Wyong.

Track: Soft 7

Rail: +4m 1350m-210m, cutaway applies, true remainder

First race: 12.15pm

Allegheny (Race 2) has been a little costly as a beaten favourite at two of her three career starts but punters are giving her another chance, firming her more than a half point to favouritism at $2.60. Down the track here last start, she had been a close runner-up at the track before that and supporters are looking for her to find that sort of form again.

Last Witness (Race 5) has taken over as favourite at $2.25 following good support in the early stages of betting. He drops in class off two runs in Sydney Saturday grade, finishing down the track at his latest outing but the 1.6 length third at Rosehill before that is good form for this.

High Dreamer (Race 7) has almost halved his opening quote and is in to joint favouritism at $4.20. He has been tried over longer distances but drops back to the mile, having won two of three runs at the trip.

Granite Belt (Race 8) has firmed in two full points to $4 after receiving good support this morning and at that quote if challenging for favouritism. He resumed with a strong win at Beaumont, where he achieved the highest last-start rating in the field, and punters are looking for him to make further progress.
