The Money Trail – Murtoa, Tuesday July 12

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Tuesday’s meeting at Murtoa.

Track: Heavy 8

Rail: True

First race: 12.00pm

Oh Baby (Race 4) opened well into double figures but has been a steady firmer this morning and still offers good each way value at $5.50. She produced a career best effort when charging home for second last start when up to a similar trip to this and she should be hitting peak fitness third up.

Tons Of Dash (Race 6) is now a clear second favourite at $4.40 after shortening almost three full points since betting commenced. He has good recent form around this distance and is dropping in benchmark grade on his latest unplaced effort.

The Blonde Alibi (Race 7) opened as favourite but has been hammered in early betting, her quote shortening by more than a half point and she is now in to the red at $1.85. She has the highest last-start rating in the field, achieved when runner-up at Geelong, and her previous city form was solid.

Spirit Of Dekay (Race 8) is a well supported favourite, firming up almost a dollar to a fixed odds quote of $2.60 with TopBetta. He was well beaten last start but had won his maiden in good fashion before that and punters are expecting him to be suited back in benchmark grade.
