The premiership winners were Jet Spur (Champion Sire); Real Saga (Champion 2YO and 3YO Sire) and Rothesay (Champion First Season Sire).

“It’s been a remarkable 12 months and one we are very proud of,” said Glenlogan Park manager Steve Morley.

“It’s very satisfying to claim all of these titles in one year with three different stallions.

“The three sires all finished in the top 20 2YO sires in Australia and that is an incredible achievement considering the opposition we are up against.”

QLD CHAMPION SIRE – JET SPUR: Enjoyed his best season breaking the grip on the title held by Show A Heart, Lion Hunter and Sequalo for the past 12 seasons. Jet Spur produced four new stakes horses including the G3 winning 2YO Mishani Honcho. He also finished runner-up on both the 2YO and 3YO Queenalnd sires’ tables.

QLD CHAMPION 2YO/3YO SIRE – REAL SAGA: Real Saga has now had three crops to race and has been crowned Champion 2YO Sire each season. With his oldest runners 4YOs last season, he finished second to Jet Spur for Champion Sire honours and it seems only a matter of time before he claims that crown.l. Real Saga’s progeny included juvenile stakes winners Real Good and G1 placed Sagaronne, his 3YO filly Candelara won the G3 Adrian Knox Stakes and was placed in the G1 AJC Oaks and his 4YO daughter Real Surreal took out the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic.

QLD CHAMPION 1ST SEASON SIRE – ROTHESAY: Rothesay was Queensland’s champion first season and also finished as Australia’s leading first season sire by winners, fifth on the General 2YO Sires by winners behind Not A Single Doubt, Snitzel, I Am Invincible and Exceed And Excel and was in the top 20 2YO sires in Australia by earnings.
