The two-year-old filly had an early share of the lead before settling down to battle it out in the straight with the favourite Symphonix.

Devon Princess cleared out from her rivals over the last 200m to record a dominant four-length victory. Symphonix held on for second, just in advance of La Ciccioline.

Price was quick to endorse the value of VOBIS Gold supported events.

“Devon Princess’ owner Betty Hoare is great supporter of both VOBIS Gold and Super VOBIS,” he said.

“Her and her late husband John are long time Victorian breeders and the VOBIS Gold scheme is obviously a massive benefit for re-investment back into the Victorian racing industry.

“Today’s result, coupled with the earlier VOBIS Gold wins by Worth A Ransom shows the benefit of the scheme for Victorian breeders.

“I know Mrs Hoare will be organising her matings shortly for the coming season and if her horses are eligible to be a part of this scheme I know that’s what she’ll do again. It’s a good self-funding part of Victorian racing.”

Devon Princess was bred by the late John Hoare who died earlier this year.

Her dam Gaelic Princess was G3 placed in the Blue Diamond Preview and Prelude for the Hoares and has a yearling colt by More Than Ready. She d was bred to Myboycharlie last November.

Testa Rossa has moved to third place on the Australian 2YO Sires table with over $2 million prizemoney this season, the majority due to his now retired Magic Millions Classic winner Unencumbered.

Testa Rossa’s fellow Vinery stallion Mossman leads the 2YO premiership with $2.96 million prizemoney.

Devon Princess is the second VOBIS Gold feature winner for the Hoare family and Price this yea, joining talented Red Ransom three year-old Worth A Ransom who won VOBIS Gold Eldorado at Wangaratta.

Price was keen to continue his association with VOBIS Gold qualified youngsters at the recent Magic Millions National Yearling Sale where he was able to secure VOBIS Gold qualified youngster by Sebring for $150,000.
