Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Lot 472 Not A Single Doubt - Golden Edict colt. Picture: Inglis

Who is (are) your pick of the colts and why?
Having a smaller draft this year, I can say we have five very nice colts.

Lot 472 is a colt by Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice) from Golden Edict (Empire Maker). He is the perfect Not A Single Doubt type, looks very much like his sire and has all the attributes to suggest he will be an early type, strength, medium size, great shape, nice bone and just real quality.

Lot 498, the Pride Of Dubai (Street Cry) out of Impressive Eagle (Rubiton) colt is a forward athletic type who I can see being aimed at earlier races. He looks a hardy type and with an outstanding pedigree page.

The Sebring (More Than Ready) - Malaahy (Medaglia d'Oro) colt, Lot 54. is an interesting proposition, being by a stallion who is no longer with us and has all the Easter sale qualities; physique and pedigree, being from the immediate family of Fastnet Rock (Danehill).

Lot 180, Fastnet Rock out of Salma (Encosta De Lago) colt is a half to a stakes winner from the family of Redoute's Choice (Danehill). He has action and style and is one that surely catches your eye – a really good looking Fastnet Rock.

Who is (are) your pick of the fillies and why?
The I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) - Omniscient (Exceed And Excel) filly (Lot 118) is an outstanding athlete, she has action, balance and a proper filly who is well grown and really takes your eye.

While Lot 252, the I Am Invincible out of Tremor (Commands) is a racey early type, like all I Am Invincibles she has quality.

Who do you feel has improved most over the prep?
The I Am Invincible - Tremor filly (Lot 252) has improved considerably throughout her prep. When she came in, she was in the mix so to speak, but she has really elevated herself in the prep and presents very well.

How do you feel the 2020 sale will measure compared to previous renewals?
This is a year which is difficult to gauge. We've had a horrific time on a global scale with the coronavirus, as well as a volatile stock market, with a change in sales format it will be interesting to see how the sale is accepted, we can only remain positive and hopeful.

What is the thing you like most about the Easter Sale?
Without doubt the Easter Yearling Sale is the pinnacle of the Australasian yearling market; it has tradition and is renowned for having the strongest pedigrees and physicals to match. Having been exposed to the international markets in past years, the Easter Sale is recognised by all participants regardless of where they are from, with Australian racing also being the envy of the world.
