The Doug O'Neill-trained Tahoma (2 c ex Madera Dancer by Rahy) broke his maiden on debut on Sunday, becoming the first winner for Coolmore Australia shuttler Justify (Scat Daddy).

Owned by West Coast Stables, having been bought for US$160,000 at last year's Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Tahoma pulled clear to score a two length victory in the 4.5 furlong maiden at Santa Anita.

Tahoma was the first runner for her sire who will stand for an unchanged fee of $55,000 (inc GST) this spring, after standing at Ashford Stud in Kentucky where his fee was advertised at US$100,000. His first Australian-bred crop will be two-year-olds next season and they have sold for up to $1,000,000 at the yearling sales in 2022.
