Saturday’s Jenny Wiley Stakes (Gr 1, 8.5f) at Keeneland was won by Juliet Foxtrot (6 m ex Kilo Alpha by King’s Best) who in winning became the 22nd Group / Grade 1 winner for Dansili (Danehill).

Trained by Brad Cox, Juliet Foxtrot broke well and went straight to the lead. Asked to quicken around the home turn, the mare ran on well in the straight to pull clear and was never challenged to win by two lengths. Tamahere (Wootton Bassett) finished in second with a neck back to La Signare (Siyouni) in third.

"It was brave on behalf of everybody at Juddmonte to make the move to keep her (in training) for one more year to try to win that elusive Grade 1," Garrett O'Rourke told Bloodhorse.

"This is huge for the mare. She looked absolutely magnificent today, and for as consistent of a performer as she's been, I just think she thoroughly deserves it, which makes it all the more sweet for us."

A Juddmonte Farms homebred, Juliet Foxtrot is one of five winners and the only stakes winner out of Listed winning mare King’s Best (Kingmambo) mare Kilo Alpha who is herself a sister to fellow Listed winner Runaway. Juliet Foxtrot’s third dam is Navajo Princess (Drone) who produced multiple Group 1 winner and champion sire Dancing Brave (Lyphard).

Based for his entire career at Juddmonte’s Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket, Dansili was retired from stud duties in 2018. The stallion has enjoyed great success with his progeny in Australia, producing 50 winners from 60 runners and 16 stakes winners, a strike rate of 27 per cent stakes winners to runners.

Dansili’s Australian stakes winners are headed by the  Group 1 winning pair Foreteller and Grand Marshal as well as Group 2 winners Permit and Trick Of Light.
