The William Cowans-trained Nicky Two Shoes (2 c ex Wendy Wow by Invasor) became the first winner in the US for Vancouver (Medaglia d'Oro) when he won over five furlongs at Thistledown on Tuesday.

Bred and raced by Southern Comfort Farm, Nicky Two Shoes defeated Latin Spic (Buffum) by a half length with another three quarters of a length back to Uptown (Upstart) in third in a time of 1:00.46.

He is out of the placed Invasor (Candy Stripes) mare who is a half-sister to the Listed-placed Carrignavar (Tale Of The Cat) and the dam of Brazilian Grade 1 winner Que Fenomeno (Northern Afleet). His third dam is Balidaress (Balidar) who produced dual Group 1 winner Park Appeal (Ahonoora), dam of Lockinge Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) winner and champion sire Cape Cross (Green Desert). This is also the family of successful sires Iffraaj (Zafonic) and Diktat (Warning).

Vancouver shuttled to Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Kentucky for two seasons. His first Australian-bred crop include eight winners headed by the stakes placed Vangelic, Postcode, Ticket To Ride and Canadian Spice. He will stand at Coolmore's Hunter Valley property for a fee of $30,250 (inc GST) this year.
