The lightly-raced five-year-old Tabdeed (5 g ex Puzzled by Peintre Celebre) added his first stakes win to his CV on Saturday as he landed the Hackwood Stakes (Gr 3, 6f) at Newbury and in the process provided Havana Gold (Teofilo) with his seventh stakes winner.

The five-year-old gelding - who was having only the eighth start of his career - proved to strong for the ever-popular eight-year-old and former winner of the Group 3 The Tin Man (Equiano), beating him by half a length, while Shine So Bright (Oasis Dream) finished another two lengths further back in third.

Purchased by owners Shadwell Stud for 42,000gns at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale from the Red House Stud draft, the gelding is one of two winners out of Puzzled (Peintre Celebre).

Puzzled herself a daughter of Irish 1,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1m) winner Classic Park (Robellino) - the dam of six winners including Listed winner Soon (Galileo) and Derby (Gr 1, 1m4f) runner-up Walk In The Park (Montjeu).

Further back the gelding shares a page with Grade 2 winner Rumpipumpy (Shirley Heights).

Havana Gold’s progeny is headed by Group 1 winner Havana Grey and the stallion stands at Tweenhills Stud where his fee in 2020 was £10,000.
