Miss Mecca scores at Rockhampton
Aquis Farm-based first-season sire Kiss And Make Up (More Than Ready) sired his second winner on Tuesday when his daughter Miss Mecca (2 f ex Miss Elvee by Elvstroem) got off the mark at the second attempt over 1100 metres at Rockhampton.
The two-year-old filly scooted clear to beat I’m Strolling (Better Than Ready) by a length and three-quarters, while Jungle Beat (Drumbeats) was another length and a quarter away in third.
Miss Mecca herself is out of Miss Elvee (Elvstroem) and she is herself half-sister to Group 3 winner Magnapal (Magnus) and Group 3-placed Red For Lou (Testa Rossa) - the dam of stakes-placed Le Chef (Exceed And Excel).
In 2020 Miss Elvee produced a filly by fellow Aquis Farm-based stallion Spieth (Thorn Park) and has most recently been covered by Noor Elaine Farm-based stallion Ilovethiscity (Magic Albert).
Miss Mecca joins General Phelps as the stallion’s other winners and he will standing for a fee of $8,800 (inc GST) this spring.
