The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained Pegasi (2 c ex Draw Forward by Charge Forward) won over 1147 metres at Geelong on Friday and in doing so provided his Vinery Stud-based first season sire Star Turn (Star Witness) with his second winner.

Having the second start of his career, Pegasi defeated Lightsaber (Zoustar) by a half length.

Pegasi was bought for $80,000 by McEvoy Mitchell Racing / Belmont Bloodstock Agency from the draft of Sledmere Stud at last year's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale. The colt joins Miss Hipstar as the stallions other winner with Star Witness's first crop also including the Group 3 placed colt Astrologer.
