Danon Smash set to tackle Chairman’s Sprint Prize at Sha Tin

Last start Takamatsunomiya Kinen (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Danon Smash (Lord Kanaloa) will look to add a second Hong Kong Group 1 to his CV when he tackles the Chairman’s Sprint Prize (Gr 1, 1200m) at Sha Tin on April 25. 

The six-year-old landed the Hong Kong Sprint (Gr 1, 1200m) in December and he will be ridden by Joao Moreira. 

Danon Smash will clash with Wishful Thinker (I Am Invincible), who claimed this season’s Premier Bowl (Gr 2, 1200m), Rattan (Savabeel), the 2019 Sprint Cup (Gr 2, 1200m) victor, while Voyage Warrior (Declaration Of War) he winner of the 2020 Sprint Cup (Gr 2, 1200m) also takes his place in the Group 1 race.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Fillies’ Triple Crown winner Daring Tact (Epiphaneia) will clash with reigning Hong Kong Horse of the Year Exultant (Teofilo) in the HK$25 million Queen Elizabeth II Cup (Gr 1, 2000m). 

Last start Hong Kong Gold Cup (2000m) winner Golden Sixty (Medaglia d’Oro) was imperious when winning the Hong Kong Mile (Gr 1, 1600m) and he will look to add a fourth Group 1 to his CV when he tackles Champions Mile (Gr 1, 2000m).
