The Widden Stud-based stallion Outreach (Exceed And Excel) sired his first winner in Hong Kong when Carroll Street  (3 g ex Brooklyn Rain by Manhattan Rain) made a winning debut in the Geranium Handicap (1000m) at Sha Tin.

The three-year-old gelding stayed on strongly to beat Forte (Per Incanto) by a length and three-quarters, while Sight Hero (Love Conquers All) was another two and a quarter lengths away in third.

Purchased by John Foote Bloodstock for $32,000 at the Inglis Scone Yearling Sale from the Widden Stud draft, the gelding is out of the unplaced Manhattan Rain (Encosta De Lago) mare Brooklyn Rain.

The gelding’s third dam is Group 2-placed Hanky Panky (Anabaa), who in turn produced Group 3 winner Master Ash (Sebring) and dual stakes winner Come Hither (Redoute’s Choice) - the dam of fellow Listed scorer Cohesion (Lonhro).

Hanky Panky herself is out of stakes-placed mare Singles Bar (Rory’s Jester) - the dam of dual Listed winner and successful sire Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) and the dams of Listed winner Zizou (Fusaichi Pegasus) and Group 1 winner Oohood (I Am Invincible).

Further back this is the same family as King’s Legacy (Redoute’s Choice), who landed the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) and Champagne Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) last season.

Tamaqi Park purchased Carroll Street’s brother for $3,000 at the Inglis Scone Yearling Sale earlier this year, while Brooklyn Rain foaled a colt by Outreach’s barnmate Supido (Sebring) in 2019. This season the mare produced a colt by another Widden Stud-based sire in Your Song (Fastnet Rock) and was covered again by Supido.
