ROSEHILL SATURDAY
RACE 5: (2) CRAFTY IRNA: Finished second in this Group 3 race last year with 57kg and this tremedously honest mare gets her chance to go one better after just failing to run down Thy when second up over 1600m at Warwick Farm on March 16. She's down 2kg on that run, meets Thy 4.5kg better and looks well in against her own sex with the same weight as last year considering her excellent record over the last 12 months that includes a win in a strong Listed race at Randwick in the spring beating a G1 winner followed by a G2 placing at Flemington. Few over her rivals will rise to those heights.
RACE 6: (2) IT'S A DUNDEEL: Added to his outstanding record in Sydney when he let down in great style to win the Randwick Guineas over 1600m at Warwick Farm at just his second run back to give him a live crack at the Triple Crown. There is no doubt he will be even better going to 2000m and it really seems a doubtful case of whether his rivals can match his scope for improvement at level weights.
RACE 9: (8) EMOTIONAL CIRCUS: A very difficult day ends with a wide open fillies and mares race and a great value chance in this talented mare having her second start for top Newcastle trainer Kris Lees. She's already recorded two of her four wins at this course and will be hard to hold out over this more suitable trip after finding the line late when first-up over 1100m at Warwick Farm. Rates highly on the strong Group and Listed form she produced last year.
