The Money Trail – Bathurst, June 23

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Friday’s meeting at Bathurst.

Second Step (Race 3) has been well backed and is now an odds-on favourite at $1.80, 40 cents shorter than her opening quote. The filly showed promise with a win and a placing from two provincial starts at her maiden campaign and could go through her grades this time in.

Ready Fire Aim (Race 6) has tightened his grip on favouritism at $2.10 having shortened a half point. The blue-blooded three-year-old broke his maiden at this course last start and the punters are confident he can go on with the job stepping up in trip.

Adjective (Race 7) opened as equal favourite but now stands clear at the head of the market at $3.70 having firmed close to a point. The gelding drops to country grade having been racing at the provincials and should be race fit after three runs this time in.
