Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 28.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Caulfield Heath, Hawkesbury, Ballina, Ipswich, Townsville and Albany.
CAULFIELD HEATH: RACE 4 @ 3:00 PM
SIOUX SPIRIT (4) was beaten at $1.85 odds first up at Mornington in a BM58 but this isn't much harder and she should strip much fitter. She's had just four starts to date and been a hot favourite in three, profiling as a mare that is up to, and better than this sort of level. She's a much bigger price now and one worthy of taking. STOKKE (8) resumes. She showed good ability in her maiden campaign, winning easily on debut. The second to Pharari at Ballarat, albeit well beaten, is excellent form for this. MISS TORONADO (14) resumes. She beat subsequent G2 winner Evaporate on debut at Ballarat Synthetic and has plenty of natural speed. Should take catching. TAPO (5) has been around the mark of late and rates an each-way chance.
SELECTIONS: Sioux Spirit to win.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 7 @ 4:55 PM
CASSIEL (2) two solid runs back have him ready to break through today with the winkers going on. Powered late with the 59kg when a narrow third over 1200m at Kembla Grange in this class on November 5. Can race closer and no excuses here. CRYPTONIC (4) rewarded for his consistency when returning for a strong maiden win over 1000m at Wyong on November 9. Ready to tackle this stiffer assignment on his home track. Can win again. MISSILE SEEKER (5) dynamite fresh gelding resuming with a good record over this track and trip. Fitted with the one trial and look for him doing his best work late. SUMO STAR (7) good fresh gelding resuming. Came to the end of his prep when a poor ninth over 1250m at Canterbury in BM72 class on August 7. Has the one 821m trial under the belt and stays in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Cassiel to win.
BALLINA: RACE 7 @ 5:15 PM
COLD ONE (1) led and again spiked his figures winning a CL3 at the Gold Coast on a slow track. The small claim offsets the weight lift back in grade. He runs along and can make the hat trick. WONDERLAND STAR (11) is another decent chance for the Matt Dunn yard. She's raced at Listed level and is a third-up winner. Has a wide gate but McGuren sticks and that's a positive. FIVE RINGS (3) is knocking on the door and will find this easier than Doomben. He should be around the mark. MYCHYNA (10) will be fitter and has pieces of form that would see her in the finish. Has been freshened and will appreciate the soft track.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Cold One.
IPSWICH: RACE 4 @ 4:27 PM
WORTH AVENUE (7) failed to live up to the favourite tag when resuming at the Sunshine Coast, just chasing soundly into a midfield finish. Is sure to have come on with that run under the belt and gets a key switch in Maloney. Sharp improvement is anticipated. PEACEFUL PRINCE (4) got off the mark in great style here two back, before turning in an eye-catching finish in town at the latest. Ticking along superbly and gets a key booking in Orman. Expect him to drift back early and charge hard late. SECOND SUN (2) wasn't far away fresh and then put the writing on the wall last start when missing by a long neck at Doomben. Should be nearing his peak now, just has to overcome the ugly draw. METCALFE (5) was a fast finisher fresh off a long break, then fought hard to break the maiden here last start. Will be further improved third-up off a long break. Can give this a shake.
SELECTIONS: Worth Avenue to win.
TOWNSVILLE: RACE 8 @ 5:57 PM
SILVER GLITTER (9) resumed with a 1L defeat in an Open 2 at Mackay and can bounce off that. Maps well and benefits from a 2kg claim. The danger is likely to be PLATINUM FIELD (1) who is first up following a switch from the top Victorian stable. He is right up to this at best and has won fresh. Draws an inside barrier and the blinkers are applied again. MISHANI MAVERICK (4) is third-up and improved. Butler is a key jockey switch replacing the 3kg apprentice. In the mix. MY ARTIE (3) hasn't been far away and finally draws a low barrier. Morrison sticking aboard is a positive.
SELECTIONS: Silver Glitter appeals most.
ALBANY: RACE 5 @ 7:16 PM
FLICK THE SWITCH (1) is hard to knock on form, picking up where she left off last campaign. She just missed last start over 1100m here, but she'll be fitter again third-up and she was favourite here last time out. Ticks plenty of boxes and can get back to winning ways. CELESTIAL FOX (4) returns to the Dion Luciani stable following a Kalgoorlie campaign in the Peter Fernie Barn. She absolutely bolted in at the trials recently and she should be right on the speed from a good barrier. Cooper's 2kg claim comes in handy and she'll take plenty of catching. JELLYBEAN JONES (5) improved quickly last start to get the job done in a bunched finish. Back in trip is a slight niggle, though his form may have been franked by now and he maps to get his chance. Don't dismiss lightly. DO DA DITTY (6) hasn't won for a while but showed glimpses last campaign. Has claims.
SELECTIONS: Going with Flick The Switch.
