Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Flemington, Eagle Farm, Morphettville, Ascot.
ROSEHILL: RACE 7 @ 4:00 PM
BELLA NIPOTINA (3) courageous mare who was ridden a treat from the outside gate when sitting on the speed for a fighting nose win over 1200m in the G1 The Everest at Randwick last time out. Won this race last year and she should be able to defend her title from the good gate. SUNSHINE IN PARIS (4) snagged back early from the sticky draw and returned good sectionals late when a narrow fifth over 1200m in the G1 The Everest at Randwick. Poorly drawn again but racing like she will appreciate this trip. Good enough to take this out. KING OF SPARTA (2) massive performance first-up from the outside gate when rattling late to finish fourth over 1200m at Randwick in the G3 Sydney Stakes on October 19. Dynamite second-up and has each-way prospects. PRIVATE EYE (1) tough old gelding who won this race in 2022. Kept finding from the awkward gate when a close-up sixth over 1200m at Randwick in the G1 Everest. Winkers go on and can race closer from the inside gate. SELECTIONS: Bella Nipotina to win again.

FLEMINGTON: RACE 5 @ 3:00 PM
Very keen on POWERS OF OPAL (5). She's a staying filly on the up who went to a Hawkesbury maiden last start and demolished her rivals, winning by 5.5 lengths in strong time. She brings different form to the muddling Melbourne lead-ups and will relish 2000m with McDonald on. TREASURETHE MOMENT (2) was a tough winner over 1600m at Caulfield last time out, giving the indication 2000m would be no issue. She's never missed the top two in five starts to date. JENNI'S MEADOW (1) worked home well in the traditional lead-up, the G3 Ethereal Stakes. She's had the run at 2000m which could mean plenty. OUR PARAMOUR (8) got the maiden out of the way comfortably enough last time and can measure up.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 1 @ 13:32 PM
Tricky race to kick off the card with many of these babies facing the starter for the first time. Of the raced brigade CUDDLES FOR KIMMY (1) couldn't have been more impressive winning at Doomben on debut and will have derived a stack of confidence from that first-up victory. Has race experience on her side and should be going very close again. The well-related LOCKYER (3) (full to G2 winner Strasbourg) gets the deadly Gollan/Maloney combination and any market confidence must be noted. MADDIE'S COMET (8) looked handy winning a recent trial here and gets 2kg weight relief from the favourable draw. Has to be included. STRAWBERRY SMASH (9) showed improvement at the most recent trial and a betting watch is advised. LOVEBUG (7) next in line.

MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 1 @ 12:33 PM
DOLCEMENTE (2) capitalised here third-up after kicking off the prep with two promising efforts. Up in the weights this time as she tackles a similar challenge on the quick turnaround. Can settle closer from the inside alley and is sure to be very competitive. SAVSONIC (3) finished full of running when beaten less than a length by Dolcemente here last week. Meets the winner with a kilo weight swing in her favour and is drawn well. Main danger. CYCLONE HARMONY (1) lengthened nicely to record a handy win at Bairnsdale at the latest. Tougher this time but can measure up. THERE GOES MY HERO (4) progressed sharply second-up when knuckling down gamely to score at Gawler. Open to further improvement third-up and is worth some thought. DARTBOARD (6) is ticking along superbly this campaign as he shoots for the hat-trick. Can't ignore.

ASCOT: RACE 8 @ 7:57 PM
SUPER SMINK (2) is right back to her best and looks to have found her race today. Cruelled by bad gates in both runs this time in, she gets a chance to sit closer today for Chris Parnham and she may have more room for improvement. Plenty to like and she can end her winning drought. YONGA LASS (15) has won 2/3 fresh and has impressed a the trials coming into this. Pike has a brilliant record aboard the mare and she should get every chance from the inside. Carries no weight and is likely to be in the finish. LUVNWAR (11) will appreciate this trip first-up and looks a progressive mare. Worth including. DIAMOND SCENE (9) was impressive winning fresh over this track and trip and he has claims.
