Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 10.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Kilcoy, Mornington, Orange and York.
HAWKESBURY: RACE 4 @ 3:05 PM
HOOLIGAN TOMMY (4) exciting prospect starting to hit his straps in his four-year-old season. Chasing his third straight victory after demolishing his rivals by 4.5 lens over 1600m at Canberra in easier company on September 20. Desperate for this trip now and expected to go close. JURISPRUDENCE (5) only fair in two runs back in tougher company and expecting more in this easier contest. Offered little when a poor seventh over 1600m at Warwick Farm in BM72 grade on September 25. Can race closer from the good gate and take a hand in the finish. BROK CAFE (3) racing in career best form and ready for the 1800m now. Placed over this trip in Highway grade last time in and looks good value. IMPUNITY (8) well bred gelding fitter after one run back. Ready for the extra trip and must be kept safe.
SELECTIONS: Hooligan Tommy to win.

KILCOY: RACE 3 @ 3:47 PM
GIDDY GAN'S JOY (6) resumed at Ipswich over a mile beaten 1.3L. She has plenty up her sleeve and is best over the middle distances. Maps for a soft run and fitter can go one better. GOLD PRINCE (2) won well over a mile and then got too far back from a wide gate at Ipswich. Risks getting bottled up from the inside gate but gets in well again with the 3kg claim. ALERT AND READY (11) has been racing well at lesser venues. Has placed this course/distance and can't be ruled out. EMBOLDEN (5) missed a nose at Ipswich two back. They have scratched the stablemate and supporters will be sticking.
SELECTIONS: Backing Giddy Gan's Joy.
MORNINGTON: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
NOVA LIGHTS (3) is a consistent mare who resumed with a good run when fourth, beaten under a length at Geelong when hard in the market. She's shown ability in better races than this should go close. FUROSSHI (6) has just found one better at both starts this time in, both over 1000m. Up in trip now looks ideal and she should take catching. SHE DARESTHE DEVIL (5) doesn't win out of turn but has been around the mark of late behind some smart horses. Looks well placed here. FULLY CALCULATED (7) won an easier race last time and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Nova Lights to win.
ORANGE: RACE 7 @ 5:50 PM
LUCILAGO (7) came from next to least to record an impressive win last start in a 1200m Nowra maiden. Took a while to break the ice but that will help her confidence. Has the numbers to take this next step. SIR MAURICE (4) floundered in heavy going at Goulburn last start in a run worth overlooking. Was racing well prior to that and should be very competitive. MRS BULL (9) charged home from worse than midfield on straightening to be beaten under a length when second-up over this journey at Dubbo. Placed 3/3 third-up and goes well here so she is a serious threat. LANWAR (5) relished the step up in trip when a barnstorming maiden winner at Bathurst recently. Likely to prove hard to hold out again. GECKO COIN (2) is on trial at this distance but generally finds the line well in shorter races so it should suit.
SELECTIONS: Confident Lucilago can keep the ball rolling.
YORK: RACE 7 @ 7:52 PM
COSMIC ECLIPSE (10) was very disappointing at Belmont most recently after a gutsy win at Bunbury the start prior. She drops right back in grade today and it's obvious she is better than what she produced last start. This looks a nice race for her with Pike sticking and she can bounce back in a big way. RAZMAS (6) ran over the top to score two back before dropping to the 1000m journey and ending up a long way off the winner. Back out in trip looks to suit and he should get his chance from the draw. Can make his presence felt. DON'T TELL NAN (8) resumes without a trial though she was producing good figures at the end of last campaign. Still lightly raced with upside and she is a course and distance winner previously. Can roll forward and be in this race for a very long way. LADY CABERNET (11) resumed at Bunbury in stronger company and should strip fitter for that effort. Can put herself in the finish. CRYSTALIST (2) is worth including.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Cosmic Eclipse.
