Elite Invincible To Bounce Back

The Mark Walker trained Elite Invincible failed to fire on New Year's Day but is expected to bounce right back in the sixth event this evening.

An impressive winner in his Singapore debut, Elite Invincible did have excuses when safely held behind Justice Day last start.

In a race favouring those on-speed, Elite Invincible simply got too far back and after travelling wide throughout, he closed off fairly well all things considered.

Formerly based in Meydan his best form was achieved over 1900m and hence the step up to 1400m should definitely aid his chances.

Drawn favourably in the small field, Elite Invincible is expected to settle closer to the speed and if back to his best he is certainly well placed at the weights.

Leading rider Vlad Duric links back aboard having ridden Elite Invincible to victory in his Singapore debut.

Only lightly raced, he has won two of his eight starts and has placed in both prior attempts over this trip.

He possesses a very strong SP profile and should prove hard to beat.

The Desmond Koh trained Sun Dream has been rock solid in both starts this time in and should be right at his peak racing third up.

Only narrowly beaten on New Year's Day, Sun Dream notably finished well ahead of Elite Invincible and looks to only have to repeat that level of performance to be right in the finish again.

Apprentice rider CC Wong continues his association with the four-year-old and is likely to adopt a forward position from the inside draw.

Although on trial at the trip, he gives the impression the step up to 1400m will suit and he looms as a major threat.

The Stephen Gray trained Really Capable won well at this C&D last start and like the way he has been kept fresh since (42 days).

Given the sole trial in the lead up, Really Capable appears in good order and he has placed in five of his last nine starts.

Another drawn well, he is expected to make his presence felt with Nooresh Juglall aboard.

Of the rest the Ricardo Le Grange trained Siamese Cat appears the next in line.

Having returned two encouraging performances to begin this preparation, Siamese Cat failed to fire last start, but has since been kept fresh and has trialled well in the lead up.

Drawn a touch awkwardly, but she rates well on best form and remains under strong notice.

Good luck and happy punting.
