The progressive Gentlemen Agreement should relish a step up in distance when he lines up on the all-weather at Kranji on Sunday.
The lightly-raced Leticia Dragon-trained gelding has been hitting the line well in recent outings to suggest he is looking for the 1600m of the Class 4, race eight on the program.
Give a six-week let-up, he caught the eye running on well for 1.6 length third over 1400m last start.
That run will have improved him and the way he hit the line suggested the mile should be perfect for him at this stage of his preparation. One query is that Gentlemen Agreement is untried on the all weather but he is a horse on the up and jockey John Sundradas should be able to get him into a good position from gate five.
Blitz Power looks a worthy rival second up.She caught the eye running on from near the tail when resuming with a fourth over 1200m.
Improved by that, she will appreciate the extra 400m and is proven on the all weather having won her only attempt at this course. She showed good ability at her maiden campaign when winning twice and it is fair to think she has improved with maturity with a good draw another tick in her favour.
Caribbean Lady is one capable of giving a big sight. She is making good progress this campaign, producing a much-improved effort last time when she led and fought on well for a half-length second.
She has yet to win so is eligible for easier races but should be fitter again third up and with the aid of the inside gate she could take some catching stepping up to 1600m.Verizon is another that should be ready to produce his best third up.
He doesn’t win often but he does usually race well at 1600m having placed at three of four attempts. With fitness on his side he could be the big improver.Zulu Warrior has placed at two of his three runs this time in so will be at peak fitness.
He does his best work at the distance so is worth including in exotics.Best of luck and happy punting.
