Capable sprinter Premier Fighter looks to have found a race to suit when he lines up on the Kranji all weather surface in Singapore on Friday evening.

Premier Fighter is the topweight for the class 4 over 1000 metres but a 3kg claim for apprentice jockey Salim Yusoff sees him carry 55kg and brings him right into the contest.

The three-year-old son of Oamaru Force was brave when beaten two lengths into fourth place at this course and distance last start and this looks a more winnable assignment.

The Timeform rating he returned in that effort is the joint highest last-start figure in this field and he has improved his rating with each recent outing, a trend that suggests another peak performance.

He finished in the top three at his previous three outings including a win at this course and distance two starts back when he sat midfield before taking over and kicking away in the straight to win by 1.3 lengths.

A veteran of just nine starts, Premier Fighter’s two wins have come at this distance from just six attempts and both have also been on the all weather.

This race doesn’t look to be run at an overly fast tempo for a sprint race so Salim should be able to work Premier Fighter across into a perfect position.

Hoshiko was a length in front of Premier Fighter when third last time out so that performance sees him as a major threat.

His Timeform rating on that occasion equalled that of Premier Fighter and as that was only his second run back from a spell he could have scope for improvement third up.

His strike rate of one win from 17 starts is a concern but it did come at this course and he has been placed another eight times so his consistency can see him right in the finish again.

Stock Broker is racing in career best form with two wins and a second from his past three starts, all at this course and distance.

Timeform ratings suggest he needs to lift on those performances to match a few of his rivals tonight but with all five of his career wins coming at this distance he could be capable of doing just that.

Lucky Six bounced back to winning form when scoring over 1100m at this course last start.

That was in a class 5 and he had been well held at his two previous class 4 outings but his last-start rating stacks up well in this and the win may have given him a confidence boost.
