The Ricardo Le Grange trained Situation appears well placed to make a winning debut when due to contest the final event at Singapore this evening.
Formerly trained by Aiden O'Brien [Old Name: Sportsmanship], Situation displayed good ability in his six starts and has trialled well since landing in Singapore.
Given a very solid grounding, Situation has had six trials in the lead up, most recently finishing second behind Hip Hip Hooray.
From the rails draw he should receive all the favours and is expected to be prominent for Barend Vorster. When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, Situation appears very well placed on best form and should prove hard to get past.
The John O'Hara trained Friendship returned in good order last start and remains open to sharp improvement racing second up.Friendship broke through for his maiden win three back, before finishing second at his next two outings.
With 28 days between runs, O'Hara elected to trial Friendship in the lead up, only narrowly edged out by the Alvin Tan trained Shadow Of War.He appears in fine fettle for this affair and is sure to make his presence felt.
The Richardo Le Grange trained Board Walk broke back into the winner's stall last start and if able to hold that form, he has to be respected.A winner of 11 of his 65 starts, Board Walk's best days are admittedly behind him, however he is still very capable in this grade.
From the good draw he shouldn't be far away and has to be respected with Nooresh Jugllal sticking aboard.Of the rest the Alvin Tan trained Soon Yi appears the next in line.
A handy winner two back in Class 5 company, Soon Yi went on to confirm that level of performance when finishing a close second behind Bandido last start.Soon Yi possesses a great record at this course and distance and he cannot be taken lightly, despite rising at the weights.
Good luck and happy punting.
