After All That To Take Some Catching

After All That can build on a dominant debut when contesting the Biochem Water Class 1 Handicap.

The Rodney Northam-trained gelding has taken time to make his debut however it was well worth the wait as he proceeded to bolt in at Scone over 1100m.

The run returned him a Timeform rating of 79 and with a Benchmark of just 55, the gelding appears suited in the Biochem Water Class 1 Handicap (1000m) at Gosford.

Even with a couple of scratchings, the field assembled for the Class 1 sprint at Gosford is a strong one.

After making all on debut at Scone, expect After All That to be prominent throughout once again.

While there is speed drawn inside, jockey Robert Thomspon heads to Gosford for just this ride.

You can be assured the top country hoop will have the son of Time Thief prominent.

The pair are expected to take some holding out however do strike some worthy opposition.

Cheeky Babe resumes after a two start maiden campaign where she showed an abundance of talent, in particular when winning on debut at Newcastle over 900m.

Her trial in readiness for this when a narrow second at Rosehill over 900m was top shelf, going to the line untested, just collared late by the Gerald Ryan-trained Skyclad.

Trainer David Pfieffer has the services of James McDonald engaged which is a positive lead and the duo should enjoy a cosy run in transit, most likely behind an early speed battle.

The daughter of Bel Esprit is currently favourite for the event and while that is understandable, her master Timeform rating achieved on debut at Newcastle does sit below what After All That produced on debut.

Entrancing is the next elect.

The Garry Frazer-trained filly resumes after a two start winter campaign which culminated with a success over 1100m at Hawkesbury.

She is drawn to receive all of the favours from barrier 1 and certainly has claims on best.

For those searching for value, Mosstar resumes after an autumn campaign where he held form well and was a maiden winner at Scone.

He lacks the same level of upside as the above mentioned horses however the son of Mossman is honest and is yet to finish out of the money in three prior first up outings.
