Those willing to forget his latest outing could be rewarded by following Farolitos in the TAB Place Multi Handicap at Warwick Farm.
Well supported last start in a Benchmark 70 over the Randwick Mile, those on the John O’Shea-trained colt would have cringed as the three-year-old got trapped in a pocket on straightening and never got out.
Connections and followers of the colt will be hoping he gets even luck in the TAB Place Multi Benchmark 70 Handicap (1600m) at Warwick Farm.
The colt is favourite for the event as of Thursday morning largely based on a success over 1500m at Newcastle two starts back.
It was a strong win suggestive of a colt who could work through his grades and gets a chance on Thursday.
Farolitos has what looks to be an ideal combination of form and fitness heading into the event.
From barrier 6 after the scratchings Excited Prince and Foxspur, expect James McDonald to go forward and settle handy.
McDonald will be hell bent on keeping the colt out of trouble in the run and from a wider draw it is hard to imagine the pair will get snookered in on the fence again from there.
Outside of the favourite, Thursday’s TAB Place Multi Benchmark 74 Handicap is an open contest.
The Chris Waller-trained duo of Rezoned and Circus Turn resume.
Rezoned’s last campaign culminated with a success in the Group 3 Fillies Classic (2500m) at Morphettville while Circus Turn makes his Australian debut after commencing his career in the UK where he showed plenty of promise.
Fitness is a query with each of them but both seemingly look to have the class to be thereabouts in this contest.
Chris Waller sends an army into this contest with Now’s The Time the most race fit of them third run from a spell.
The gelding comes out of the same race as Farolitos where he recorded a sound fourth.
His lone career win came at a prior third up outing in the UK and stays under notice.
The remainder of the field are largely exposed types who rate poorly in this line up and don’t possess any upside.
Whilst he must fend off a quartet of Chris Waller-trained runners, Farolitos still looks the way to go in Thursday’s TAB Place Multi Benchmark 74 Handicap (1600m).
