Banca Mo can build on an eye catching first up run in Wednesday evening’s Launceston Mitsubishi WFA.
The Scott Brunton-trained gelding was very good on resuming with a fast closing fourth at this course in the Newmarket Handicap (1200m).
He produced the run over an unsuitable trip, with a big weight and off a generous spell.
The seven-year-old finished fourth behind a stable quinella of Hellova Street and Royal Rapture.
On Wednesday evening, Banca Mo seemingly gets his chance to chalk up another win for the Scott Brunton stable in the Launceston Mitsubishi WFA (1400m).
The Tough Speed gelding rises in distance on his first up run which should suit and David Pires jumping aboard is also a positive.
From barrier 1, Pires has options aboard the gelding who has shown in the past his tractability.
Banca Mo is capable of settling on the speed while his first up run highlighted the seven-year-old's ability to work home from off the pace.
A small field of eight will work to his favour and won’t have to come from too far back if Pires elects to settle the gelding worse than midfield.
Of Banca Mo’s seven rivals, he faced five of them on resuming in the Newmarket Handicap.
Royal Rapture and Isibaeva each got the better of him on that occasion under handicap conditions.
At weight-for-age, Banca Mo gets a substantial weight swing on this pair and the three other rivals he beat last start.
The gelding meets Royal Rapture 6kg better at the weights for a half length defeat and Isibaeva 4.5kg better at the weights for a neck defeat.
Banca Mo is one of two class horses in the event with the other Geegees Blackflash.
Geegees Blackflash was given a let up after a midfield fifth in the Goodwood Handicap.
The eight-year-old has since been kept ticking over with a barrier trial.
Geegees Blackflash is another who will relish the weight-for-age conditions of Wednesday evening’s feature and the rise to seven furlongs.
The John Luttrell-trained gelding has won this event twice in the past and always warrants respect.
It could be easily argued the Launceston weight-for-age is a race in two between Banca Mo and Geegees Blackflash.Pitt Street, Royal Rapture, Streetwise Savoire and Iggimacool can fight it out for the minor placings.
It is Banca Mo however who looks the pick of the bunch in Wednesday’s Launceston WFA (1400m).
