Having proven a model of consistency in his maiden campaign Beau Brock impressively placed in all but one his four career starts and never finished more than three lengths off the winner.

Resuming in today's affair off a five month break the son of Bel Danoro boasts an impressive record fresh and has featured in all three attempts over the five - furlong journey.

On ratings Beau Brock is clearly superior to his rivals having notched up a peak Timeform figure of 66 at this track two starts back while his nearest rival Lady Spitfire sits four pounds shy of this mark on 62.

Adding to that with the aid of Stanley's 2kg claim he appears very well placed in the race as he only sits 1.5kg off the minimum with no other trainer in the race electing to engage a claiming apprentice rider.

From the wide draws expect both the Stephen Lee trained Powers That Be and the Cathy Chapman trained Southglen to roll forward along with the Debbie Trembath trained Fuichiwhich should ensure a good solid tempo.

A noted backmarker in his previous preparation expect apprentice rider Kacie Stanley to try and settle him a little closer to the speed this afternoon and if close enough on the turn he should just prove far too good for these.

Lightly raced galloper Southglen shapes as his biggest danger despite coming into this race off an unplaced finish at Ballina last start.

In what would appear a poor performance on paper, Southglen was clearly disadvantaged by racing up on the speed as the fast race tempo favoured the backmarkers in the race.

Having only been beaten 2.3L Southglen should improve sharply off that performance and given it was only his second career start he has the scope for further improvement.

If able to cross from the wide draw and dictate the speed of the race he should prove very hard to go past in the straight.

Of the rest the both the Graeme Want trained Belhari Boy and Power To Be appear the next in line while the rest of the field should struggle to trouble the top few.

Good luck and happy punting.
