Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be included in the squad for Wednesday's Champions League fixture against Real Madrid at Anfield.
However, the England international will not feature in the starting XI as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury during Liverpool's match against Aston Villa earlier this month and subsequently missed England's recent international fixtures.
Despite making progress, Alexander-Arnold is yet to regain full fitness, but his inclusion in the matchday squad marks a step forward in his recovery.
Liverpool have enjoyed a stellar start to their Champions League campaign and currently sit atop their group.
Slot's side are keen to maintain their momentum against Real Madrid, a formidable opponent with a strong European pedigree.
"Trent is in the squad but he will not be available to start," the boss told reporters in his pre-match press conference.
"He can maybe make a few minutes, in an ideal world he maybe doesn't, but if it is really necessary he can make a few minutes but he is not going to start.
"Federico [Chiesa] is not in the squad yet. He is training with us, not the whole session, but mostly one or two parts of the session. Harvey Elliott is in the team but hasn't played for a long time competitive football - so, he is there, but of course not ready to start.
"Alisson is not there yet, Diogo [Jota] is not there yet, Kostas [Tsimikas] is not there - he is having an injury as well, so it's quite a list for us as well."
Beyond Wednesday's clash, Liverpool are preparing for a busy schedule, including an away trip to face Girona on 10 December.
Slot also addressed the availability of other players, though details remain under wraps.
