It was a perfect day for the Dubbo trainer with four wins from four starters at Moree and Mudgee, including victory in the Sky Racing Moree Gold Cup with his stable star Izababe.

Nestor also won the Moree Town Plate with Lockers. His two winners at Mudgee So Choisay and Sister Samantha capped his memorable day.

Izababe's win in the Moree Cup was mde more memorable as the classy topweight was ridden by the trainer's nephew Kody Nestor.

Izababe, a contender for the 2010-11 NSW Country Horse of the Year award, has become one of the best Cup horses in training.

Last season he won the Coonabarabran, Dubbo and Muswellbrook Bengalla Cups.

A second Dubbo Cup later this month on his home track would be an obvious target but Nestor feels Izababe deserves to go after something better and he is considering a start in next week's Group 3 Cameron Handicap at Newcastle for the six-year-old.

Nestor said Izababe showed he was up to Group company with his first-up fourth in the behind Skytrain in the Show County Quality at Warwick Farm on August 20.

“He was probably unlucky not to win that,” Nestor said.

“We might have a crack at the Cameron if the horse is right for it.

Nestor said winning the four races at two meetings was a career highlight.

“It was a good day for us. You have to have one every now and then.

“It's what racing is all about.”

A Dubbo Cup start is looming for Muswellbrook-trained Pesci after he recorded his fourth straight win in Sunday's Black Nugget Cup at Mudgee.

Trainer Mack Griffith said Pesci, who won the Narromine Cup at his previous start, was going better than ever despite being in work for almost 12 months.

“It has been a long preparation but his last four runs have been his best four,” Griffith said.

“He's a really tough horse.”
