Midweek racing from Randwick Kensington & Sale and we've got a horse to follow from each meeting.
Randwick Kensington Race 4 - Zouatica
Very strong win by this five-year-old who was only second up at 1400m and has beaten a high class midweek field. He led at a good tempo, was there to be beaten late but really kicked again inside the final 100m and came clear to win by nearly two lengths. He should be on a Big Dance path which will take a bit more winning but he's clearly come back well and will be better suited out to a mile next start.
Sale Race 4 - Oxford Blue
The overall time is nothing flash here but I liked the toughness of Oxford Blue at just his second race start. On debut he got back to last and ran on well behind Too Darn Discreet, who won the Group 2 Edward Manifold at Flemington last week, and here he's been able to use the inside gate to hold the front. They made their runs early and got to him in the straight but he kicked back and came clear late with his final 200m the best part of his race. He'll get over plenty further and a race like the Geelong Classic over 2200m looks a nice target before a potential Derby tilt.
