Khulaasa wins 2018 Tbv Thoroughbred Breeders Stks Group 3 $150,000 at Flemington (VIC), 1200m.
All nine runners headed towards the grandstand side of the course with Khulaasa sitting a handy second at the crossing. Rider Damien Oliver was content to wait and they still sat second at the 400m then he let out the reins and the filly took over at the 300m, edged out to a length lead at the 200m but Oliver had to work hard to the line and she just held on gamely by a head, her maiden win to go along with two second placings in three starts.
Krone was always handy to the lead, crept into second at the 300m and kept coming at the winner but came up a head short.
Cristal Eyes accelerated to be fourth at the 200m and ran on well over the final 100m for third from early leader Naduri who faded over the final 50m to hold fourth.
