The Michael Clements-trained runner came into the race on the back of two wins and settling midfield for much of the race, ran on strongly in the straight to secure a two length victory over Yulong Xioung Hu in second with King Louis third.

Only Win ran to a clear new career peak Timeform figure of 82, nine pounds higher than his win in the Class 4 Premier (1400m) the start prior.

Having now won three of his nine career starts, the lightly raced four-year-old gelding is making his way through the grades nicely and is certainly one to keep an eye on going forward.

With wins between 1200m-1600m, Only Win has certainly improved as he has stepped up in trip with his win on Friday the first time he had stepped out over the mile.

Connections have indicated that Only Win will now go for a break before coming back to contest the four-year-old series.

Of the beaten runners, Yulong Xiong Hu ran up to his previous winning figure of 73 and would have lost no admirers from that effort with King Louis in third returning a Timeform figure of 81, the same he ran to the start prior.

On Sunday Chalaza was able to bounce back from his disappointing effort the start prior with a win in the Class 2 over 1400m on the turf.

Settling back in the field from a middle draw, the Steven Burridge-trained runner ran on strongly in the straight for a half length win over Kingsman in second with Elite Invincible third.

Chalaza ran to a new career peak Timeform rating of 86, four pounds higher than his win in a Class 3 three starts back over 1200m.

Kingsman was good again in second place, running to a Timeform figure of 84, one pound below his win in a Class 3 the start prior.

The short favourite Elite Invincible also would not have lost any admirers in third, running to a figure of 94 with the 57kg, his highest since coming to Singapore and a pound higher than his previous win in a Kranji Stakes A.
