Profit Street wins 2017 H.G. Bolton Sprint Listed $100,000 at Belmont Park (WA), 1200m.
Consistent five-year-old Profit Street took his record to nine wins and seven placings from 21 stakes in taking out his first win a stakes level here. He began fairly and soon dropped back to settle in last place in the eight-horse field before being taken deep rounding the home turn. He then sprinted quickly under 54kg on the Heavy 8 track to hit the front at the 100m and went on to score well.
Flying Time was fifth (wide with cover) before moving up (three deep) nearing the home turn. He briefly hit the front at the 200m and then battled on well for second.
Recent Beaufine Stakes (Listed, 1000m) winner It’s It soon crossed to the lead. He then travelled well, held the front until the 200m and lasted to take the minor placing.
The favourite First Among Equals was fourth, between runners, but was shuffled back nearing the home turn before making late ground for (4.2 lengths) fourth in sound effort under his top weight (61kg) in the affected conditions.
