Religify wins 2017 The Wayne Wilson Plate Listed $100,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1600m.
Religify got away well from barrier eight to sit one off the fence and co-lead soon after the start. Inside the 1000m rider Hugh Bowman kept the pressure on and led by a length, finding the fence and adding another half length past the 600m. Near the last corner Bowman sat quietly then shook the reins as they straightened, broke clear at the 300m and the chasers were not able to make any impression, to hold on well by a length and a half.
Crack Me Up turned in fourth (rails), had to avoid heels at the 150m and ran on quite well for second from Moher, who stalked the winner to the straight and looked a danger only to battle home for third. I'll Fly Away finished strongly late for fourth from midfield.
