Silent Sedition wins 2017 Mannerism Stakes Group 3 $150,000 at Caulfield (VIC) 4yo+Mares, 1400m.
Ultra consistent Silent Sedition made it five wins (four stakes wins) from 14 starts, bouncing from barrier six as well as any and taking a narrow lead after 200m. Jockey Craig Williams cuddled the mare up down the side but they still led, then lost the lead for a few strides only to take over again turning in. Williams pushed the button and she raced clear, widened the lead inside the 200m and had enough left to hold on by a half length at the post.
Thames Court was fifth, one out, approaching the last corner, got the split inside the 200m but could not catch the winner despite doing her best late.
Miss Rose De Lago was six wide turning for home, seemed flat at the 200m but made a late dab to grab third just short of the post.
Abbey Marie tracked Miss Rose De Lago into the straight and ran on best of the rest for (1.7 lengths) fourth.
