Thee Auld Floozie wins 2016 J Swap Contractors Sprint Listed NZ$50,000 at Te Rapa (NZ), 1400m.
The ace draw saw Danielle Johnson, aboard Thee Auld Floozie settle in fourth (rails) and maintain that spot the length of the back straight. Starting the bend they saved ground and improved to third approaching the 600m where Johnson moved away from the fence and cruised up three wide to challenge the leaders. Into the home straight, Thee Auld Floozie was full of running and grabbed the lead (easily) at the 250m and after that all Johnson had to do was wave the stick and she had the race in safe keeping at the 100m.
Seize The Moment led early, dropped back to second around the bend, made a challenge at the top of the straight but was unable to go with the winner yet kept going strongly to the post for a solid second.
A nice first up race from the favourite Hasselhoof who settled back in third last place (rails). He took a while to get balanced into the home straight and emerged between runners, doing his best work over the last 100m to secure a good third.
