Kuro wins 2016 Starlight Stakes Listed $125,000 at Rosehill (NSW) 3yo+, 1100m.
An even start saw Kuro trapped wide early from barrier ten but, cleverly, jockey Jay Ford was able to drop into the one-out-oneback position passing the 800m. Ford had the gelding going smoothly approaching the last corner and ready to challenge which he did upon straightening outside the 300m. A 100m later Ford kept shaking the reins then got even busier at the 150m and they kicked strongly to wrap up a comfortable win.
Nieta was three wide in eighth as they approached the last corner, took a 100m to truly balance then ran on pretty well without looking like overhauling the winner.
Princefamous tracked the leader (Didntcostalot) to the straight, grabbed a narrow lead at the 200m and held on gamely for third.
